Chargefox approves our Local Controller, and thank you goEV!

Our Cuprous Local Controller (CLC) product has now reached “Approved Hardware” status with Chargefox, Australia’s largest and fastest growing EV charging network.

This is a big thing for us. The CLC has only been on the market for a few months, and it was put through some pretty interesting test scenarios. Getting on the approved list is not simply about ticking a box!

The minor issues discovered along the way (and quickly corrected!) primarily stemmed from the CLC's distinct ability to internally convert OCPP 1.6 traffic to OCPP 2.0.1, and then revert it back to OCPP 1.6 for external transmission. This rare (unique?) capability means that we can take many popular OCPP chargers and connect them to the next-generation of OCPP management systems (CSMSes). With government agencies increasingly demanding OCPP 2.0.1 for its security, we can future-proof existing charging infrastructure NOW.

I would be remiss if I did not mention the role of goEV and their Sinexcel chargers. The goEV team enabled the Chargefox approved-supplier testing for us. In fact, outside of Chargefox activities, we’ve also been extensively testing our CLC with goEV's mighty Sinexcel DC chargers. The goEV team has been incredibly supportive, and so an enormous “thank you” to them. If you value a trusted partner for supporting your EV charging infrastructure here in Australia, then I strongly recommend looking at them.

We’re now preparing for a goEV/Sinexcel/Chargefox production deployment. More on that to come as we’ll be load-managing a small town's worth of power!
